James Lick is celebrating gay pride this May. One famous painter is thought to be LGBTQ+

Leonardo da Vinci was one of the greatest Renaissance painter in history. Some of his greatest paintings include Mona Lisa, and the Last Supper. He was suspected to be part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Leonardo da Vinci was mainly in Florence. Homosexuality was common in Florence, and several things indicate that Leonardo was probably gay. He never married or showed any interest in women. He even wrote in his notebooks that male-female intercourse disgusted him. Finally, Leonardo surrounded himself with beautiful young male assistants, such as Salai and Melzi.
