Hello there I will be your tour guide today because we will be time traveling in a time machine to go visit the Navajo tribe and learn new things about them. You’re maybe asking yourself what is the Navajo tribe because I never heard about them, well then today I will tell you all about them. We will learn about their location and movements also there diet and more. After you read this article you will become an expert on the Navajo tribe and also it can help you in your native american project. Hurry get on the time machine let’s go back in time when this all started on January 1864.

We’re here, that was a very quick trip. Now that we are here why don’t we talk about the Navajos location and movement, get ready for some facts about the Navajos. Their location back then was the southwest in areas also known today as Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah there all really close states. This is just a random fact so it could spice up the tour a little, so they got their name Navajo from the Spaniards that called them Apaches of Navajo just imagine how weird would that be getting named by a country. That’s all for the location and movement now let’s move on to next thing on our agenda, lets see here oh yes it’s their diet. Many Navajos were farmers so they grew crops. Like what did they grow you could be wondering, well they grew corn, beans, and squash.

They also hunted, they said that the men were the hunters and they hunted deer, and antelope. When the men were busy doing that the women gathered nuts, fruit, and herbs. But when the Spanish introduced domestic sheep and goats it opened a whole new world of food for them, it’s like when your mom gives you a new food that you have never ever tasted that’s how they felt. So then they started growing herbs and raising animals for the soft furry wool and their meat. Okay it’s time for a break from all this knowledge we’re getting right now and it’s time for a interesting fact, did you know that the Navajo tribe is one of the largest tribes from the Native Americans.

We been talking about food, their location and their life but we’re forgetting one thing their homes well let’s go check them out. Here we got their homes they lived in a house made out of some poles and they put some branches, leaves, and some mud so it could be stable and that would cover the surface of the house. Their house had names to they were called hogans you imagine just coming home and saying your homes name that would be funny. Something that is very interesting is that some today still live in these house many Diné families still choose to live there. Well to end this tour we’ll end it by talking about the Navajos clothing and to say they weren’t wearing Adidas with some Gucci shoes on they wore more like natural. Their clothing was made out of natural materials for example cotton, wool silk and they used fur and leather.

Well this would be the last of this tour it was a interesting one I could say but we learned a lot about the Navajo tribe now you could talk about them with friends, or family members I will see next time let’s go back in time machine.
