“YOU’RE CRAZY HE WILL NEVER MAKE IT TO THE NBA,” Stephen A. Smith, TV reporter, shouts at Lavar Ball. Tina Ball, wife of Lavar Ball, and Lavar Ball have three very talented basketball player sons, but only one is in the NBA, Lonzo Ball. People say he will be a bust, but some people [Lakers fans] say he will be rookie of the year. Who knows now?!

Born and raised in LA, the 19 year old played with his 2  brothers, Liangelo and Lamelo Ball, and carried Chino Hills High School basketball team to a championship. He stayed in LA for college and for the NBA because his mother Tina Ball had a stroke. He even said right after he got drafted by the LA Lakers, “It’s nice to stay home because of my mom, she’s getting better every day and that’s great.” Lonzo Ball had one of the best seasons in UCLA averaging over 14 points per game and a little over 7 assists per game. During March Madness, Lonzo Ball and the UCLA Bruins fell to Kentucky 75-86 to end their season.

Lavar Ball is founder and owner of Big Baller Brand, a family brand. They have just shirts and shoes. (I mean, if you want to shoes that go for maximum 1,000 dollars and the shirts are really expensive to 60 dollars.) June 22, 2017, was draft night and everybody was  excited. Everybody wanted to know where Lonzo Ball was going to end up but Lavar Ball knew he was going to go to the Lakers. Pick number one went to Philadelphia 76ers. They picked up Markelle Fultz out of University of Washington. Pick number two goes to LA Lakers and they picked LONZO BALL. Everybody is happy and excited. He hugs his dad and his brother. His mother is watching at home, but she’s excited and happy for him.  NBA summer league Lonzo Ball debut was not so good. He scored only 5 points, but he bounced back the next game with a triple double, and then averaged 16.3 points per game, 9.3 assists per game and 7.3 steals per game. He was named NBA Summer League MVP and the Lakers went on to win the finals but he didn’t play because he was injured. Lavar Ball says “the Lakers will make it to the finals”. We will see.
